Junior Finance Assistant
A leading architectural practice specialising in luxury residential projects has a vacancy for a Finance Assistant. Located in the Chelsea area in a smart and contemporary office space, you will be working closely with the Finance Manager on a broad range of accounting and finance activities. Your primary responsibility will be day-to-day purchase ledger management, with processing support and assigned month-end tasks to include reconciliation work and journal preparation.
Your key responsibilities will be to manage the accounts payable process including liaising with suppliers and purchasing to ensure invoices are processed and paid promptly. This includes:
- Monitor and clear parked and blocked invoices in Access Dimensions Light
- Monitor and reconcile monthly credit card statement to jobs’ cost centre
- Work with all involved parties to resolve vendor queries and disputes
- Proactively review accounts payable ledger and highlight issues for resolution
In addition, you will be assigned period end tasks where tight deadlines apply including:
- General ledger and sub-ledger reconciliations (bank, car lease costs)
- Recurring and ad hoc journals preparation and posting
- Prepare and post accruals and prepayments journals, with responsibility for maintaining corresponding reconciled monthly schedules
- Responsible for printing month end reports for Purchase Ledger and highlighting any discrepancies or inaccuracies
- Collection, chasing and processing of weekly Timesheets from Architects and Surveyors for Monthly invoicing
The ideal candidate will be studying AAT level 3 and will have experience with accounts payable or credit control. You will need a good working knowledge of Excel and it would be advantageous if you have experience working with Access Dimensions Light. You must also have an approachable personality and a customer focused attitude.
